Dr Suzanne Milner is a research assistant in Professor Gail Taylor’s group (www.taylorlab.co.uk) at the University of Southampton. Suzanne holds a PhD in the flooding stress response of two poplar species (Southampton) and has previously contributed to the Carbo-BioCrop (www.carbo-biocrop.ac.uk) and ELUM (http://www.ceh.ac.uk/sci_programmes/elum-project.html) projects. Her research interests include the impacts of climate change on the growth of poplar, involving genomic analysis, morphological analysis, yield modelling, spatial mapping and the effect of land-use change on ecosystem services.

Role in MAGLUE:

Dr Milner is responsible for running the West Sussex site, collecting data on GHG fluxes associated with willow and grassland for WP1. Suzanne will additionally be involved in the field campaign, measuring GHG emissions across MAGLUE sites. As part of Professor Taylor’s team, Suzanne will also be supporting all work packages, particularly the analysis of GHG emissions, spatial and temporal modelling (WP2), SUPERGEN Biomass Value Chain Assessment (WP4) and optimisation of outputs and policy relevant recommendations (WP5).
